Board Meeting Schedule

The Planning Commission meets monthly on the third Tuesday of the month, at 6:00 p.m. Interested residents are always encouraged to attend either in person at the Town Office or remotely via Zoom.

Mission

The Planning Commission (PC) is comprised of 3 to 5 volunteer members, who are appointed by the Select Board, and are principally responsible for drafting and amending the Bolton Town Plan and our town’s zoning regulations (the Bolton Land Use and Development Regulations ). The PC also participates in the regional planning process, undertakes comprehensive planning, and functions solely as a planning body. The PC does not review development proposals or issue permits; these fall under the jurisdiction of the Development Review Board and the Zoning Administrator. TOWN PLAN UPDATE

The Planning Commission has completed a required update to the 2017 Town Plan. The update process is extensive and time consuming but the process is complete. The next major task for the Planning Commission will be to bring the Bolton Land Use Regulations in line with the Town Plan and current legislative requirements.

Corrected Annual Report for 2023-24 Town Report

The printed Town Report contained an annual report for the PC from a previous year. This is the one that should have been included.

CURRENT ZONING REGULATIONS

The Select Board adopted the Bolton Land Use and Development Regulations (BLUDRs) in 2005. Amendments were approved in 2010, 2019, 2021, 2022 and 2023. The BLUDRs (aka Zoning Regulations) may be found on the Zoning Page.
