Vermont Consumer Assistance Program – https://www.uvm.edu/consumer – 800-649-2424. Do you have problems with a business or the government? Do you suspect a scam? The Consumer Assistance Program can help resolve problems with a business, find answers from Vermont State government office and connect you with other resources.
Vermont Legal Aid – http://www.vtlegalaid.org/ – 800-889-2047. Vermont Legal Aid helps Vermonters who are over 60, have a low income, disability and/or problem with health care insurance or services. Their Elder Law Project and Health Care Advocate Project are particularly useful for seniors.
Vermont Long-Term Care Ombudsman – http://www.vtlegalaid.org/vermont-long-term-care-ombudsman – 800-889-2047. The Vermont Long-Term Care Ombudsman Project protects the health, welfare and rights of people who live in long-term care facilities including nursing homes, residential care homes and assisted living residences. We also help people who receive long-term care services in their homes through Choices for Care (CFC).
