Community Senior Center of Bolton, Richmond and Huntington

Bolton seniors are welcomed and encouraged to participate in activities sponsored by the Community Senior Center of Bolton, Richmond and Huntington (CSC).  A group of Bolton residents has begun to meet with CSC monthly to discuss the interests and needs of seniors in Bolton.  The group is beginning to organize events in Bolton and is spreading the word of other opportunities CSC offers.  CSC events are aimed at a wide range of interests and physical capabilities.

Carpooling can be arranged to CSC events.   Activities grants are available for events with fees.

CSC Activities in Bolton

BOLTON VALLEY ALPINE SKIING:  As you know Mike Storrs has been working with Bolton Valley to provide a new ski opportunity for seniors in the area.  This is what he has come up with:
“Bolton Valley Resort will offer a program where seniors can get together and ski along with a professional ski instructor.  This is a chance for seniors to come to the mountain ski as group with a leader, build camaraderie, explore the mountain and maybe improve their skiing. The program would include an all day all mountain access lift ticket and up to 3 hours with a ski instructor to provide lessons and skiing tips as desired, and to be a guide to the mountain for those not familiar with the resort.
The cost would be $59 per session.  For those who might have a seasons pass but would like to join in for the camaraderie and lessons the cost would be $32.  A rental equipment package would be available for $24 and season long lease packages are available.
The regular non program price for a midweek lift ticket is $64,  adult group lessons are $64, and rentals are normally $49 so this package represents about a 50% savings over those prices.
Our first thought is to offer this once a week except for the busy holiday weeks but schedules
and times can be flexible.  Thursday seems to be the day that is convenient for those of you who have  responded.  The lifts open at 9:00 AM.  I suggest that we meet inside to lodge around that time maybe have a cup of coffee and decide what we want to do.
Bolton opened Friday and I skied.  The conditions were actually very good but only two trails at the bottom of the mountain were open. The weather looks good for snow making this week and the mountain will be closed Monday through Wednesday while they work to get more terrain on line.  We could start as early as this Thursday but with the limited terrain it may be better to wait a week.
This program is first offered through the Senior Center of Richmond, Huntington and Bolton, but it will be offered to other area seniors as well so spread the word to your friends from other towns.
Please get back to me,, if you plan to attend and give me your thoughts about schedule and times. Think Snow, Mike Storrs”

PICKLEBALL-BOLTON VALLEY: Time and cost change  this week, from 5 pm to 7:30 pm.  It will remain at that time for the rest of the winter.  We will not have pickleball on 12/25, 1/1, 1/15 and 2/19.  There are 13 nights of pickleball scheduled during the winter season. Because the Mountain is open for its season during this time, there will be a $3.00 per session fee or a season pickleball pass for $30.00, payable to the Bolton Valley Cashier on duty.  Current Bolton Valley Ski pass holders already have a season pass to the sports center.  If there are cancellations due to inclement weather we will create a make-up schedule that works for the folks involved. Please contact Keith Chase with questions.
