Select Board

Select Board

The Select Board is the legislative and governing body of the town.  It adopts a budget that is submitted to the voters for approval; it sets the total town property tax rate; and it enacts and amends ordinances and adopts policies to govern and address conditions within the town.  The five members of the Select Board are elected by the town voters at the Annual Election on officers held on the first Tuesday in March, and members are elected to 2-year or 3-year terms.  The Board meets regularly on the first and third Mondays of the month in the conference room at the town office.  By law, the Select Board meetings are open to the public and the Bolton residents are encouraged to attend.

Agenda for Upcoming Meetings

The Town of Bolton has received two grants from the Vermont Better Roads Program to upgrade culverts and road ditching along sections of Wentworth and Thacher Roads, within town rights-of-way.   These roads were highlighted for needed drainage improvements in town road inventories conducted in 2016.  Planned improvements, prepared for us by Fitzgerald Environmental Associates, LLC under contract with the Chittenden County Regional Planning Commission, have been designed to meet new state standards for stormwater management along town highways, as required under “Act 64” Vermont’s Clean Water Act.  A community meeting is scheduled for Thursday, July 27, 2017 @ 6:30 p.m. at Fireside Flatbread at Bolton Valley.
